The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business Administration is designed to prepare students to assume careers in any facet of business, whether it be industry, government, nonprofit organizations or entrepreneurial ventures. At least two of the courses must be writing intensive and at least three of the courses must have critical thinking as a major learning outcome.

WSSU’s MBA program allows each student to choose four electives that best meet his/her career goals and skill sets needed for advancement. Social/Behavioral Sciences: Courses that increase students’ knowledge of how social and behavioral scientists discover, describe, and explain the behaviors and interactions among individuals, groups, institutions, events and ideas. Globalization: Facilitates understanding the connection between people from diverse cultures; developing awareness of global environmental resources and issues; understanding how their own behavior affects and is affected by larger world patterns; developing insights into alternative world views. There is no single path towards fulfilling this requirement.
Natural Sciences: Courses that deal with matter, energy, and their interrelations and transformations or with objectively measurable phenomena. 4.
Once students complete their core MBA courses (8 courses or 24 semester hours), they will have the opportunity to choose four electives from a variety of disciplines including but not limited to financial services, management information systems and management. The Business Administration major is the generalist degree within the School of Business & Economics: Rather than specialization, Business Administration students seek the broadest-possible businessschool knowledge and capabilities.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Winston Salem State University is designed to meet the needs of working professionals. At all times, there are particular concepts, themes and ideas that raise concern and debate within society.
Additionally, students are encouraged to explore courses designed to broaden their perspectives on various Curricular Themes including globalization, diversity, civic engagement, sustainability, moral and ethical reasoning, and healthy living.
