You can cross the bridges over the streams into the jungle of ferns and moss and low lying foliage. Great for family gatherings, parties, kids, etc. Overall its decent if you like crowds, paying fees, and have your own boat (etc). There is a lot of parking, playgrounds, and bathrooms. Perfect for BBQs, family gatherings, boating, jet skiing, canoeing, fishing, etc. Even bringing out the jet skis on a hot day. Decent parking, no military discount, and there IS a fee to enter grounds. I started off in one of the five parking lots that has the majority of the walking/hiking trails. So many private areas to fish and swim.
